So excited to hear we signed a seven footer that has some promise. I'm also excited to hear what the opposing fans will chant at him...his name, of course, is Peter Jurkin. Wow.

Yep and does indeed pronounce his last name the way it is spelled. But hey, he is buddies with 2012 PF stud Hanner Perea who has his list down to Baylor and Indiana. Ron Patterson from Indianapolis committed to IU today and his buddy Jeremy Hollowell could very well follow suit soon. Both Patterson and Hollowell were being recruited by Matta at tOSU so getting both these kids would represent Crean officially marking his territory and showing the state of Indiana is coming back under our control again. Our 2012 class is shaping up to be epic, and hopefully as these 2012 kids start falling in line that will be the final straw to get Cody Zeller committed for 2011. Good times in Hoosierville again. And in the meantime Pork Chop has been doing a very mediocre job in PUkeville so once Hummell, Johnson & Moore are gone I think we are positioned to blow by the farmers again.

2012 stud guard Gary Harris visited IU today. He would be an absolutely HUGE get for Crean.

Don't know much about Blackmon, but the fact we went after him so early is promising. I've seen clips of the other recruits to commit, and only see good things. I've seen Hanner's clips, he looks really, really, really athletic.
I also want to mention that I'm going to try to watch a few games in public (in B-town), if anyone would like to join me, that'd be cool.

Let's not forget also getting 2014 stud forward Trey Lyles from Indy. Although it does seem odd to be filling up 2014 slots when we will have 2011 and 2012 openings but so be it. Everything I've read about Blackmon and Lyles leads me to believe these are kids who are very likely to be the real deal. The Zeller decision will be here before we know it too. He is set to announce on November.

Nothing official but it is truly sounding like Cody Zeller is gonna be a Hoosier and if so, commits from Hanner Perea and Yogi Ferrell won't be far behind!

He said he didn't mention to the duo during the visit that he was ready to pull the trigger today.
"I didn't tell them,? I just did it," said Perea. "I told Yogi I was going to do it, I just didn't tell him when."
Could the other weekend visitors join him at Indiana?
"I don't really know but I think they will," said Perea. "I think they like it here too. They already know what positions they are going to play."

Sounds like a good get for Coach Crean. I was reading over at Peegs that we might run into a scholarship numbers problem, though. Which is a good thing, I guess...

Cody is taking all of his official visits, yes. It is just the way the Zeller family operates. They go through the entire process and make an announcement when they say they will, which in this case the announcement is scheduled to be made somewhere in the November 8th to 10th range. Hanner committing certainly won't hurt. Neither will the fact that Cody has to know Yogi will commit to IU the moment he commits. These kids know each other and have hung out. I am sure they have all talked about this whole thing. It just feels right. Regarding a scholly crunch, I think that comes into play with getting further commits beyond Cody, Hanner and Yogi. Gary Harris and Jeremy Hollowell are two more highly rated recruits in play for us and it has been said we could land both but that is far from a certainty. I do believe landing both of them in addition to the previously mentioned trio will create a crunch but like you said, not a bad problem to have if you end up with an overabundance of talented kids to fit into the puzzle.

Great info, GBR. I've been so busy, it's difficult to keep up with IU's recruiting. I have to read Peegs to get anything, and a lot of that is someone with 342nd hand information. Thanks...

Speaking of Gary Harris he also plays football for Hamilton Southeastern and Crean was at his sectional football game last night. That is what I love about Tom, the man does not sleep! My best guess is Cody commits in the next 2-4 days and Yogi falls in place almost immediately. There are rumors right now that Cody has already given Crean the good news but I still need to hear Cody officially say it. Don't need to jinx it.

Cody is set to announce his decision on Thursday at 1pm in case y'all haven't heard. And per his mother he has already made the decision and only Cody, herself and dad know. He hasn't even told his brothers. Interesting.
Anyways in case anyone reads this thread between now and then I've been digging and piecing some things together and here is my theory of Zeller-tivity not to be confused with the theory of relativity:
IU has been Cody's unofficial leader for a while now. We were in the lead before his official visit over Halloween weekend and he had a great visit. The main thing that has been holding him back from making a commitment is he really, really likes Brad Stevens. Which I know a lot of folks wrote off Butler in this process and focused on IU vs UNC but I really think it is actually IU vs Butler. Stevens did a great sell job on Cody and Cody really does believe what Brad is selling. So from Cody's perspective I get the sense while he loves IU too, saying no to Brad Stevens will be a tough thing for him to do. Thus, taking the extra time here since the official visit to Bloomington and making sure he is, well, sure about it. Also he has waited until the start of the official signing period which means he will be able to sign his LOI immediately on Thursday and not have to deal with Stevens trying to sway him if he chooses IU or vice versa.
So all things put together, I do think the kid is going to commit to IU. Not going to guarantee it but the story I've pieced together from various people does make sense to me and it also kind of echoes what Dan Dakich has been saying on his radio show the last couple weeks.

Kind of a nice catch eh? Yogi Ferrell was at the game tonight and by all accounts was having a great time. If he doesn't commit by Monday I would be surprised. He has said he wants to play with Cody and Hanner. Well son, only one way to do that now.
