This happened a couple months back too.  You get a login prompt when you go to the forums, and although you can click out of it, the forum itself appears to be a dumping ground for previously (and long ago) deleted posts.

When this happens, I'm wondering if multiple flame wars have broken out, and the Star has decided to put the whole forum on a timeout.

They've dropped a number of forums (Politics, National, etc.) at the Star and have also replaced their story comments with a Facebook plugin. And not coincidentally, the Star is in court regarding such:

Court to decide if commenter's ID must be revealed

From the talk of things there in the Religion forum (one of the last hot topic forums left) the Star is planning to give all the forums the heave-ho eventually.

I think the registration system for this forum is broken, but if I ever upgrade the software, we could invite SNail castaways here.

I enjoy a good religious discussion. The closest thing I've ever had to real faith was in the infallibility of Holy Bob the Father, the Son, and their heavenly host of snug-shorted seraphim. Alas, I am now forever a skeptic.
